Radiomir Black Seal Ceramic from Panerai
To create Panerai’s Radiomir Black Seal Ceramic, Neuchatel Manufacture watchmakers devised a unabridged new method: a high tech medication of isostatic crushing which enhances and improves its technical characteristics. The result is interesting both from the technical point of view and from an aesthetic angle.
The ceramic used is Zirconium Oxide and it is molded from powder using a process of isostatic pressure. In this system, all the positive features of this material are enhanced from its extreme durability (five times greater than steel) and its strong resistance to a wide range of temperatures. Also, ceramic formed in this way takes on a more homogenous appearance than that resulting from the traditional; method of casting.
Its movement is a hand-wound mechanical Panerai with 16.5 lines, 17 jewels and a monometallic Glucydur balance. It also includes an anti-shock device and 56-hour faculty reserve.
Its 45mm ceramic case includes a removable wire kink belt attachments in steel with gala difficult raven coating and a winding crown.
The dial is black and of a sandwich erection with luminous Arabic numerals. The seconds hand is at 9 o’clock and the Torpedo is reproduced at 6 o’clock. Its anti-reflective sapphire crystal is 2.2mm thick.
The strap comes in black leather and steel buckle with a special hard black coating and it is distributed beginning in September with a limited production of 1,000 units.
