Chopard Prepares For The Future In Geneva And In Fleurier

To advance its manufacturing capacity and consolidate its vertically integrated fabrication which includes more than 40 different professions, Chopard latterly purchased contemporary buildings and land in Geneva and Fleurier.
Since 1974, Chopard has been based in the Meyrin industrial zone on the outskirts of Geneva, where it has progressively developed its administrative headquarters and production workshops. The most recent gain was made in July 2007, with the purchase of an adjacent building with a floor amplitude of 3,200 m2 located on a tract measuring 9,800 m2. This purchase follows the construction, in 2006, of a new hall offering a production space of 2,000 m2. In Meyrin, Chopard now has an effective floor space of 24,000 m2 on land covering a total surface area of 64,000 m2.
Along similar lines, the Chopard Manufacture site in Fleurier, created eleven years ago, recently received an additional building with a floor space of 2,500 m2 to lodge growth. This acquisition will allow the firm to increase the space devoted to production and administration in the future.
The crowd has also expanded significantly as far as manpower is concerned: it created more than 100 jobs in Switzerland last year. At the end of 2007, Chopard?s workforce totalled 1,650 worldwide, including 700 at the Meyrin site and more than 130 in Fleurier. In 2008, the generation of new jobs is also planned.
